Our History

The company was founded by Sigvart G. J. Simonsen in 1945. It’s principal activity in those days was the inspection of vessels and power generating plants as representatives of the Norwegian Norske Veritas. During its early days, the firm’s activities were confined to the the field of Marine liability claims and collision but with the passage of time our interests have broadened to encompass the wider business community in order to satisfy particular requirements. As the years have gone by, Simonsen y Cia. extended their interests by including P&I, H&M Clubs and the representation of vessel’s Owners and Operators.

Nowadays we count with reliable services from our network of surveyors covering all Argentinean and Paraguayan ports, we also count with our in house cargo surveyors team trained and equipped for high standard cargo quality control and as one of the most important correspondents in the region for being one of the oldest and more experienced marine surveyor companies.

In case that an incident is inevitable, we are at our clients’ disposal handling the damages and the subsequent consequences by resolving the claims in a fast and efficient manner. Considering our clients conditions, we look for solutions with experience and commercial/legal judgment corresponding to each case.
